El Paso Police responded to a reported shooting at the Trophy Room Bar located at 9627 Sims on March 2, 2024. An officer stationed in the parking lot was involved in an incident when a black Nissan Rouge collided with the police vehicle while pulling out of a parking space.
Upon approaching the driver, identified as 32-year-old Denzel Jacques Malone from Fort Bliss, the officer noticed open containers inside the vehicle.
Subsequent investigation revealed Malone's intoxication, leading to his arrest for Driving While Intoxicated with an open container.
Malone was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
