On Sunday, March 10, 2024, emergency services rushed to The Revl Apartments in Austin following a distressing call about a three-month-old infant who was not breathing. Responders from the Austin Police Department (APD), Austin Fire Department (AFD), and Austin/Travis County Emergency Services (A/TCEMS) arrived at 5629 North Lamar Boulevard at approximately 11:14 p.m. Life-saving aid was administered on-site before the infant was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.
Despite the efforts made, the infant passed away on March 15.
As authorities delved into the circumstances surrounding the incident, detectives discovered troubling evidence concerning the decedent’s twin sister, who had also suffered non-accidental injuries. Following their investigation, Child Abuse Detectives took action, arresting and charging 31-year-old Brittney Alisha Bailey with Injury to a Child, a first-degree felony, for the injuries sustained by the decedent’s twin sister.
