On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Austin Police Department (APD) officers were called to respond to a shooting incident at 2207 Wickersham Lane around 9:39 p.m. The caller reported a disturbance and informed authorities that 44-year-old Christopher Rodriguez had been shot.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Rodriguez with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspected shooter, identified as 23-year-old Adam Brown, was also present when officers arrived and was promptly detained.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists were dispatched to investigate the incident and interview witnesses. Initial investigations suggest that Brown and Rodriguez were involved in a dispute that escalated, leading to the fatal shooting.
Adam Brown has since been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident.
