Shavano Park Police Department Weekly Crime Blotter: March 7th - March 13th, 2024

Assaults and Arrests: On Tuesday afternoon, officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence in Shavano Park. Upon arrival, they found that a family dispute had turned violent, with one individual assaulting two family members. As officers attempted to apprehend the aggressor, they encountered resistance, leading to a physical altercation where one officer was struck in the head. The individual was eventually subdued, taken into custody, and transported to the Bexar County Adult Detention Center to face charges of Assault Family Violence (x2), Assault on a Public Servant, and Resisting Arrest. The case has been referred to criminal investigations for further scrutiny.

Warrant Arrest: In a separate incident on Wednesday morning, an officer witnessed a vehicle attempting a U-turn in the 4500 block of Lockhill-Selma Road, ultimately colliding with a tree. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the driver possessed an active felony warrant for Injury to the Elderly. The driver was promptly arrested and transported to the Bexar County Adult Detention Center to face the outstanding warrant.

Vehicle-Related Incidents: Another case on Wednesday morning involved a stolen vehicle report. An officer was dispatched to an address in response to a request from the San Antonio Police Department regarding a potentially stolen vehicle. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the registered owners were unaware their vehicle had been taken without consent. The vehicle was recovered by SAPD and returned to its rightful owners. A theft report was filed, and the case has been referred for further investigation.

Additionally, on Wednesday afternoon, an officer responded to a report of a car window being broken at a residence on Regent Circle. The complainant reported noticing damage to the passenger window, indicating potential attempts to access the vehicle over the past few days. Though no valuables were taken from the vehicle, the incident is being investigated as a burglary of a vehicle.
