San Antonio Man Sentenced to 50 Years for Fatal Stabbing

Anthony Vasquez, aged 52, was sentenced on March 4, 2024, to 50 years in prison for the stabbing death of 39-year-old David Salinas. The verdict came after a jury found Vasquez guilty on January 25, 2024. However, the sentencing was postponed pending a pre-sentencing investigation of the defendant.

The incident occurred just before 1:00 am on November 7, 2021, when the victim, David Salinas, arrived at a neighbor's home. Vasquez, another visitor in the residence, was already present. A dispute ensued between Vasquez and the victim, escalating from a shoving match to a physical altercation, which culminated in a fatal stabbing.

Despite being seriously wounded, Salinas managed to flee the scene but collapsed in the yard. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) later pronounced him dead.
