On February 29, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers responded to a shooting incident at a Northeast Side warehouse located in the 6900 block of NE Loop 410. Upon their arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of 25-year-old Caesar Garcia on the stairwell near the entrance of his workplace.
Surveillance footage from the scene revealed Garcia exiting the front entrance of the warehouse, followed shortly by two males approaching him. It became evident that Garcia was meeting with the suspects. A robbery attempt ensued, during which Garcia resisted. The suspects then resorted to using a firearm, shooting Garcia multiple times before fleeing the scene.
On March 2, 2024, the San Antonio Police Homicide Unit successfully identified and apprehended the primary suspect without any confrontation. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Kia Dotson, has been charged with capital murder. The Homicide Unit Detectives are commended for their exceptional dedication and efforts in delivering justice to Garcia and his grieving loved ones.
