Shavano Park Police Report Series of Incidents: Vehicle Theft, Drug Offenses, Forgery

Shavano Park Police Department (SPPD) reported several incidents in the past week, including a vehicle theft, drug-related offenses, and forgery.

On Thursday morning, February 22nd, at around 6:00 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Happy Trail found one of their vehicles missing from their driveway. The complainant also noticed that another vehicle parked in the driveway had been rummaged through. The stolen vehicle was later tracked and recovered at an apartment complex in the 7400 block of Yarrow Blvd, thanks to its telematics system. Investigators found evidence at the scene that may lead to the suspect's identity. The case is under investigation.

The same day, SPPD officers conducted a traffic stop in the 16700 block of NW Military Highway and discovered marijuana paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver was cited for drug paraphernalia and other traffic offenses, and the vehicle was impounded.

On Sunday morning, February 25th, another traffic stop in the 15300 block of NW Military Highway led to the discovery of cocaine inside a vehicle. The driver was taken into custody and transferred to the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.

Finally, on Wednesday, February 28th, a resident reported to city hall that their checkbook had been stolen and some of the checks had been forged and cashed. This case has been referred to criminal investigations.
