San Antonio District 3 Seniors Honored at the You Matter Health Fair

San Antonio Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran and the District 3 team marked the end of February with a celebration dedicated to senior residents at the Southside Lions Senior Center. The "You Matter" Health Fair aimed to promote self-love and self-care among the community's elders.

"February is not just about flowers and chocolates; it is also a time to reflect on the significance of nurturing oneself, regardless of age," shared the Councilwoman. She emphasized the importance of providing resources and programs to seniors throughout the year, enabling them to discover opportunities available in the city.

The event, tailored for the cherished seniors of District 3, aimed to remind them of their value. Viagran highlighted the importance of practicing self-love and self-care for overall health and happiness.

"We believe that practicing self-love and self-care is a vital aspect of overall health and happiness," she stated. "Senior residents have a wealth of experiences and stories to share, and it is a priority to ensure that they enjoy the best quality of life possible."

The Councilwoman extended gratitude to organizations such as The Gonzaba Foundation, WellMed, Texas Diaper Bank, SAFD, Via, SAWS, CPS, Metro Health, and the Emergency Management Department for their participation in making the event special.
