On Monday, February 5, 2024, an aggravated robbery took place at the Poco Loco store on Windy Hill Rd in Buda. Following an investigation led by a detective from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Rudy Romero. Romero was also found to be connected to robberies in both Kyle and Buda.
Currently, Romero is in custody with a total bond of $255,000, facing charges including aggravated robbery, evading arrest, and engaging in organized criminal activity. Additionally, two other suspects were identified by the Buda Police Department: 22-year-old Brandon Anthony Vasquez and 23-year-old Martin Garcia Jr.
Both Vasquez and Garcia were arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity and robbery. Vasquez has been released on bonds totaling $40,000, while Garcia remains in jail on bonds totaling $50,000.
Hays County Sheriff Cutler expressed gratitude to the deputies and detectives from his office, as well as to the officers and detectives from the Buda and Kyle Police Departments, for their dedicated efforts in resolving the case.
