New Braunfels Police Arrest Suspect in Stabbing Incident

On February 15, 2024, at around 11:15pm, New Braunfels Police Department responded to a call from Resolute Hospital on Creekside Crossing regarding a stabbing incident. The victim, a 39-year-old male from Seguin, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and provided information to officers indicating the stabbing occurred in a parking lot near Spur Street and South Hidalgo Avenue.

Police officers located the crime scene and apprehended a suspect, 55-year-old Jose Luis Rodriguez of New Braunfels, at a residence on School Avenue without resistance. Rodriguez faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and was also arrested on a Parole Violation warrant. He is currently held in Comal County Jail awaiting bond, which has yet to be determined.

The investigation, led by NBPD Criminal Investigations Division, is ongoing, and further charges may be forthcoming.
