Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office Arrests Suspect in Postal Worker Robbery Case

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office successfully made an arrest in connection with the robbery incident that occurred on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. The suspect apprehended is identified as 21-year-old Daniel Alvarado Ramirez, a resident of Donna, Texas. Ramirez was taken into custody on Friday night, February 9, 2024.

The robbery took place at around 1:30 pm on the 1300 block of Isabella Grace Street in rural Weslaco, Texas. The victim, a female U.S. Postal worker, reported that a male subject in a Chevrolet truck pulled up behind her while she was delivering mail. The suspect allegedly took the victim’s wallet from her back pocket and, when confronted, pushed her to the ground, resulting in a fractured wrist for the victim.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s with a thin build and short hair. Surveillance footage obtained by Sheriff’s Investigators captured the suspect vehicle, identified as a newer model charcoal gray Chevrolet Colorado four-door truck.

Daniel Alvarado Ramirez has been booked into the county jail for Robbery, and the investigation into the incident continues. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
