Shavano Park Police Report Multiple Incidents: Scam, DUI-Minor, Vehicle Burglary, and Forgery Under Investigation

Shavano Park Police Department Reports Various Incidents

  1. Theft Investigation: On Saturday afternoon, January 27th, around 1:00 p.m., Shavano Park Police responded to a report of a possible scam in the 100 block of Shavano Drive. The complainant communicated with an individual they believed to be a known friend via online social media. After agreeing to send money for a purchase, the complainant grew suspicious when asked for additional funds in the form of gift cards. It was revealed that the person they were communicating with was a scammer. The case has been referred to criminal investigations.

  2. DUI-Minor, Open Container, Unlawful Carry Weapons: In the early hours of Sunday morning, January 28th, around 2:00 a.m., an officer discovered a suspicious vehicle near a business in the 4000 block of Pond Hill. Two occupants, both under the age of 21, were found inside. The driver displayed signs of alcohol consumption, and an open container was observed. Additionally, a loaded firearm inside the vehicle was reported stolen with the San Antonio Police Department. The driver was cited for DUI-Minor and Open Container, while the passenger, who admitted possessing the firearm, was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Carry Weapons.

  3. Burglary of Vehicle: On Wednesday morning, January 31st, around 7:30 a.m., an officer responded to a report of vehicle burglary in the 13200 block of Huebner Road. The complainant had left their vehicle unattended, unlocked, and running in a business parking lot. Upon returning, they discovered their purse, containing the key fob, missing. Video evidence showed a male suspect entering the vehicle and taking the purse. The case has been referred to criminal investigations.

  4. Forgery Investigation: On Wednesday afternoon, January 31st, approximately 3:00 p.m., an officer investigated a forgery report in the 4400 block of Lockhill-Selma Road. The complainant was alerted by their financial institution about numerous checks on the business accounts that appeared to be forged and deposited. The suspected forgery had been occurring since December 2023, and none of the checks were authorized transactions. The case has been referred to criminal investigations.
