Wind Chill Warning and Advisory Issued for Bandera and Surrounding Areas

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning and Wind Chill Advisory for portions of south central Texas, with dangerously cold wind chills expected.

Details:

  • What: For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold wind chills are expected, with values as low as 10 below zero. For the Wind Chill Advisory, very cold wind chills are anticipated, with values as low as zero.

  • Where: The affected areas include LLANO, BURNET, EDWARDS, REAL, KERR, BANDERA, GILLESPIE, KENDALL, and BLANCO.

  • When: The first Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until noon CST today. The Wind Chill Warning is effective until 9 AM CST Tuesday. The second Wind Chill Advisory will be in place from 9 AM Tuesday to 10 AM CST Wednesday.

  • Impacts: The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

  • Additional Details: While wintry precipitation has come to an end, residual icy spots could remain on some area roadways.

Precautions: Residents are urged to use caution while traveling outside, wear appropriate clothing, including a hat and gloves, and avoid outdoor activities if possible. These measures are essential to safeguard against the potentially dangerous cold temperatures.
