Burglary Suspect Rescued from Wall in Northeast San Antonio Home Break-In

In a bizarre incident on Tuesday night, San Antonio Police officers rescued a man accused of breaking into a home on the Northeast Side after finding him wedged inside a wall. The discovery occurred after 9 p.m. in the 16300 block of Boulder Pass, near Madison High School.

The homeowner had alerted the authorities about four hours earlier when she spotted the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Ethan Thomas, breaking into her home via surveillance cameras. Upon police arrival, Thomas fled back inside the residence and barricaded himself. Efforts by officers to persuade him to surrender were unsuccessful.

After a thorough search, officers located Thomas wedged between the sheetrock and an exterior wall inside the house. San Antonio firefighters were called to the scene to extricate him from the tight space.

Following his rescue, Thomas was examined by EMS and subsequently taken into police custody. He has been charged with burglary, a felony 2nd degree, as well as evade arrest/detention-2nd degree. The bond for both charges has been set at a total of $45,000. Fortunately, no one was residing in the home at the time of the incident.
