On the afternoon of September 12, 2023, 18-year-old Izaac Anthony Hernandez was arrested by deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) for two warrants; Promotion of Child Pornography and Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
The mother of the victim reported the offense to Bexar County sheriff's deputies on August 12, 2023, after the 14 year old victim made an outcry.
Following the initial outcry, the child victim was provided a forensic interview through Child Safe, where BCSO CID Child Safe investigators learned of photographic and video evidence containing sexual acts committed by the suspect. Investigators also learned that some of the assaults occurred when the victim was 13 years old and the suspect was 18 years old.
Through the course of the investigation, with diligence by BCSO Child Safe investigators, FAU deputies executed the arrest warrants and placed the suspect into custody without incident. Hernandez was transported and booked into the Bexar County Jail for his warrants.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office wants to remind parents to monitor their children's social media and encourage and establish an open dialogue with their children so they feel comfortable sharing information. Additionally, parents should advise their children that distributing and possessing nude images of other juvenile students may warrant charges of distribution and/or possession of child pornography.
