Seguin Man Arrested for Stabbing Death of His Brother, Charged With Murder

On September 9, 2023, the Seguin Police Department responded to a distress call reporting an assault in progress on the 1100 block of Clark St. The caller, a concerned mother, informed authorities that her son had been stabbed during the incident.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered 26-year-old Terry Simmons Jr., a resident of Seguin, inside the residence with multiple injuries consistent with stab wounds. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that Terry had been involved in a heated argument with his brother, 22-year-old Trey-Vel Simmons, also from Seguin. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in Terry's injuries.

Trey-Vel Simmons was taken into custody without further incident by responding officers.

Terry Simmons Jr. was transported to a San Antonio hospital for medical treatment, where he currently remains in critical condition.

Trey-Vel Simmons was transported to the Guadalupe County Jail and subsequently booked on charges of Aggravated Assault - Family Violence with a Weapon/Serious Bodily Injury.

The Seguin Police Department continues its investigation into this incident, and further details may emerge as the case unfolds.

UPDATE: On the afternoon of September 13, 2023 Terry Simmons Jr. succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. An arrest warrant was obtained for Trey-Vel Simmons for one count of Murder on September 13, 2023 which was issued by Judge William Old. Trey-Vel remains in custody at Guadalupe County Jail.
