Bandera Middle School Volleyball Teams Display Strong Performances Against Devine

8th Grade A Team

In a thrilling Homecoming volleyball match, your Lady Bulldogs took on Devine on Wednesday night, leaving spectators on the edge of their seats. Pyper Barnard's exceptional performance included four stuff blocks, while Isabella Pace and Kinli Mcintosh showcased their defensive prowess with six digs each. Briley Clark and Mckenna Jones teamed up to earn crucial points with their powerful serves.

The match unfolded as follows:

  • Set 1: Lady Bulldogs secured a strong start, winning 25-23.
  • Set 2: Devine rallied and took the set 25-20.
  • Set 3: The battle continued, with Devine ultimately winning 15-9.

The girls demonstrated remarkable progress in just one week, particularly in transitioning on defense and court awareness. The team's integrity and determination were commendable.

8th Grade B Team

Last night's volleyball game showcased determination and skill, with standout performances from players like Leighann Spangler and Kylie Hall. Spangler's five aces and Hall's impressive spike energized the team despite missing some players. The girls displayed resilience and teamwork, making for an exciting game.

7th Grade A Team

The 7th Grade A Team delivered an outstanding performance against a formidable Devine team, engaging in three hard-fought sets. Despite a loss in the end (27-25, 15-25, 12-15), the girls demonstrated rapid improvement, particularly in hitting transitions, which they learned in less than a week. Serving aces were contributed by Gracen (2), Brylyn (1), Blu (1), and Brooke (1). The team showed great attacking ability, with hitting kills from Gracen (3), Brooke (2), Hadley (1), Brylyn (1), and Maddie (1).

Setters Blu and Gracen set up the hitters effectively, while the backrow displayed impressive defense with digs from Elle (5), Brylyn (3), Brooke (3), Gracen (2), and Hadley (1). The girls' tenacity and passion for the game were evident, and their progress is a source of pride for the team.

7th Grade B Team

The 7B Lady Bulldogs secured their second consecutive victory against Devine, winning in three sets (18-25, 25-22, 15-12). Makenzie Clay and Cealy Billings excelled in serving, contributing a total of 13 successful serves. Harley Randall, Bentley O'Donnal, and Kamilla Vazquez displayed notable improvement during the game, benefiting the team.

Effective communication and confidence were key to this win. The team is committed to continued hard work as they prepare for their next game against Uvalde on Monday.
