SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A missing person investigation in west San Antonio turned into a homicide investigation Sunday after deputies discovered a body concealed inside a closet at a residence near Potranco Road and Reid Ranch, leading to the arrest of two people on evidence tampering charges.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 4:24 p.m. on July 26 to the 700 block of Fort Leonard after receiving a report of a missing person.

Deputies met with the reporting party, identified as Margaret Brown, who told investigators her friend was missing. The homeowner at the residence told deputies the missing individual had last been seen at approximately 2 a.m. earlier that day.

While deputies were searching the home, a man later identified as Christopher Henson, Brown's husband, arrived at the residence.

During a more extensive search, deputies discovered the alleged missing person inside the closet of a vacant room. Investigators said the victim's body had been placed inside a clear plastic bag and exhibited multiple lacerations.

Authorities said evidence at the scene indicated Brown and Henson had been attempting to clean the residence before deputies arrived.

Brown and Henson were taken into custody and each charged with tampering with evidence.

Investigators have not yet released the identity of the victim. Positive identification and notification of the victim's next of kin are pending.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said the investigation remains active and additional charges may be filed as detectives continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
