Two Airlifted After Single-Vehicle Crash North of Knippa


UVALDE COUNTY, Texas — Two people were airlifted to a San Antonio hospital following a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in northern Uvalde County.

According to the Uvalde Fire Department, the crash occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m. on June 29 along Farm-to-Market Road 1049, about eight miles north of Knippa.

The Uvalde Fire Department responded to assist neighboring emergency agencies after initial reports indicated two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle.

By the time firefighters arrived, both the male and female occupants had managed to exit the truck on their own.

Both patients were airlifted from the scene to a San Antonio hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.

Farm-to-Market Road 1049 remained closed for several hours while emergency crews worked the scene and investigators processed the crash.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the cause of the crash.
