Pleasanton Police Make Three Drug Arrests in Weeklong Narcotics Crackdown

Pleasanton, TX — Pleasanton police officers arrested three people over the past week as part of ongoing efforts to combat narcotics distribution in the community.

According to the Pleasanton Police Department, the first arrest occurred on March 2 when Officer Cuevas and Officer Garcia responded to a vehicle accident. When officers made contact with the 17-year-old male driver, they observed alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana, THC vape devices, grinders and a scale. The teenager was taken into custody.

A second arrest occurred on March 4 when Officer Villa and Officer Sanchez conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle and discovered multiple bags believed to contain methamphetamine. Investigators also located packaging materials and a scale, items commonly associated with narcotics distribution. A 37-year-old male was arrested.

The third incident happened on March 9 when Officer Monares and Officer Rios conducted another traffic stop and developed cause to believe the occupants were in possession of narcotics. Assistance from 81st District Attorney Investigator Kaufman and his K9 resulted in an alert on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and methamphetamine, leading to the arrest of a 43-year-old woman.

Police said all three individuals are facing multiple charges, including possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, prohibited substance in a correctional facility and tampering with physical evidence, along with several additional citations.

The Pleasanton Police Department said officers remain committed to proactive enforcement efforts aimed at keeping illegal drugs off the streets and maintaining public safety in the community.
