NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a San Marcos man in connection with an alleged sexual assault reported earlier this month.
Investigators arrested 28-year-old Miguel Simpson on the morning of February 25, 2026, following the issuance of an arrest warrant charging him with Sexual Assault.
According to the Sheriff’s Office:
The alleged incident occurred February 1, 2026, in the 400 block of Havarti Way in New Braunfels.
The victim reported the assault to authorities on February 3, 2026.
Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Judge Darrell Hunter signed the arrest warrant on February 25, 2026.
Simpson was taken into custody around 9:20 a.m. by investigators and the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Sheriff Joshua Ray said, “Another sexual predator has been removed from our community. We will continue to aggressively pursue those who prey on vulnerable victims.”
Officials confirmed the case remains under active investigation and has not yet been presented to the Guadalupe County Attorney’s Office. No additional details are being released at this time.
Authorities also noted that questions regarding Simpson’s prior employment as a detention officer with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office should be directed to that agency.
