SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A 26-year-old man was taken into custody Saturday afternoon following a stabbing that left a woman injured in North San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

On Saturday, January 31, a North SAFFE officer, M. Garcia, was on patrol when he became aware of a disturbance involving family members in the 14300 block of Nacogdoches Road. Before officers arrived at the scene, the suspect, identified as Marc Anthony Lesley, fled after allegedly stabbing a 56-year-old woman.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. Her condition was not immediately released.

While officers were actively searching the area for the suspect, Officer Garcia responded to a separate call reporting a suspicious person nearby. Noting the close proximity to the stabbing location, he quickly shifted to investigate the second call.

With assistance from the department’s Eagle helicopter unit, officers were able to locate Lesley and take him into custody without further incident.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information related to this case is encouraged to contact the San Antonio Police Department.
