On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a child injury at a licensed daycare facility in North Bexar County.
During the investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance video from inside a classroom. The footage shows a daycare employee, identified as Veronica Jimenez, forcefully grabbing a child by the arm. The child’s head then strikes classroom furniture before the child falls to the floor.
The child was later taken for medical evaluation for a head injury.
After reviewing the video, the daycare facility’s management terminated Jimenez and contacted law enforcement. Investigators also determined that Jimenez’s initial statement about the incident did not match what was seen on the surveillance footage.
Based on the findings, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Jimenez. She was taken into custody without incident and booked on a charge of Injury to a Child – Reckless Bodily Injury, a state jail felony.
