Major Fentanyl Supplier to Hays County Dealers Gets 40-Year Prison Sentence

Izaac Elmore-Carson

SAN MARCOS, Texas - A 21-year-old Austin man described as one of the largest fentanyl suppliers operating in Hays County has been sentenced to decades in prison.

The Hays County Criminal District Attorney’s Office announced that Izaac Elmore-Carson was sentenced on December 2, 2025, to 40 years in prison for delivery of fentanyl and 20 years for possession with intent to deliver heroin. The sentences will run concurrently.

Elmore-Carson pleaded guilty back on September 22, 2025, but opted to have District Judge Bruce Boyer decide his punishment. The possible range was 10 to 50 years. During Monday’s sentencing hearing, prosecutors laid out evidence that Elmore-Carson supplied fentanyl to multiple dealers across Hays County. Investigators also tied him to firearm trafficking, including the sale of illegal switch devices.

Judge Boyer said he had a responsibility to protect the community before delivering the sentence.

The case stemmed from an investigation led by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Unit, with prosecution handled by Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Miranda Ebersole and Elizabeth Schmidt.

Ebersole said the impact of the arrest was felt almost immediately.

“Fentanyl remains a problem in our community and is of high priority to this office,” she said. “Local law enforcement noted the decline of fentanyl’s availability within our community after this defendant’s arrest. We will continue to support the efforts of law enforcement to stem the flow of this dangerous drug into the hands of our youth.”
