ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas - Jerry Dudley, 63, has pleaded guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and was sentenced to 38 years in state prison on October 16, 2025.
The case came to light after the defendant’s wife discovered inappropriate photos of a child—taken by Dudley—on her shared Google Photo account. The wife immediately notified family, who then contacted local law enforcement.
The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office investigation, led by Investigators Albert Garza and Gavin Lidsay, confiscated Dudley's electronics. The 5-year-old victim was identified and taken to the Children’s Alliance of South Texas, where a forensic interview was conducted. During the interview, the child stated that Dudley had "touched" her over a "million times."
The plea deal secured justice for the courageous young victim while sparing her from the trauma of testifying before a jury. Due to the nature of the offense, Dudley must serve at least half of his 38-year sentence before he is eligible for parole and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
The District Attorney's Office commended the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office for its work, and thanked ADA Audrey Vasquez and Victim Advocate Katie Quinney for their dedication to the case.
