BANDERA COUNTY, TX — On October 17, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies from the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location off Wharton’s Dock Road after receiving reports of suspected human remains.

Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the presence of human skeletal remains at the scene. Investigators from the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, along with Texas Rangers, were called in to conduct an initial investigation. Multiple pieces of evidence were also recovered and will be sent for forensic processing and identification.

All personnel cleared the scene around 8:00 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that there is no threat to the community or local residents.

This remains an active investigation. The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office stated that it is committed to transparency and will provide updates as soon as more information is available.
