SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Police have arrested Joe John Perez, 54, in connection with a shooting that left two men dead at a Northwest Side apartment complex over the weekend.
Just after 2 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Casa Del Sol Apartments in the 7800 block of Callaghan Road. When they arrived, officers discovered one man with a gunshot wound lying near the front entrance of the complex. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died. A second victim was also found dead at the scene.
According to investigators, an altercation had broken out among several individuals before the gunfire erupted. With the help of witnesses and surveillance video, detectives identified Perez as the shooter.
Perez was arrested without incident late Monday night. Police credited the work of their Homicide Unit, Covert Detectives, and SWAT Team for the swift capture.
“Witness statements matter and can bring someone to justice,” SAPD said in a statement. “If you see something, say something.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
