SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police have arrested 52-year-old Theresa McCormick in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian outside a Northwest San Antonio gas station.
The incident occurred around 12:38 a.m. on August 31, 2025, at 2310 Babcock Road, just outside Loop 410. Investigators said McCormick was driving through the gas station lot when she turned a corner and struck a pedestrian walking through the parking area, running the victim over completely.
The victim sustained catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said McCormick briefly returned on foot to the crash site but instead of rendering aid or contacting emergency services, she fled.
With assistance from the Traffic Investigative Unit, Covert Response Unit, Night CID, and North Patrol Officers, detectives were able to identify McCormick as the driver. An arrest warrant was secured, and she was taken into custody on September 4, 2025.
McCormick has been charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid – Death.
The San Antonio Police Department commended the coordinated efforts of its investigative and patrol divisions in locating the suspect and bringing closure to the case.
