Three Suspects Arrested in Bexar County Mail Theft After Early Morning Stakeout

SAN ANTONIO, TX – In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, three suspects were taken into custody following a reported mail theft involving cluster mailboxes in East Bexar County.

At around 3:00 a.m., an off-duty U.S. Postal Service employee spotted a man dressed in white using a key to access several mailboxes and remove mail. The witness monitored the activity, recorded details, and provided deputies with a description of the suspects’ vehicle.

With the assistance of the Hedwig Police Department, deputies stopped a Chevrolet Silverado matching the description. Inside the vehicle were three individuals:

  • Jason Walsh (driver)

  • Ashley Silici (front passenger)

  • Dakota James Mills (rear passenger)

During the traffic stop, deputies discovered a large trash bag in the back seat believed to contain stolen mail, along with a firearm and drug paraphernalia.

Both Walsh and Silici agreed to speak with investigators after being read their Miranda rights. Silici admitted she was aware of the thefts but denied physically handling mail. Walsh confirmed seeing Dakota Mills remove mail using a key, but deputies noted inconsistencies in his account. Mills declined to make a statement.

The witness later positively identified Mills as the man in a white shirt who placed the stolen mail into the trash bag.

All three suspects were arrested on felony mail theft charges and booked into the Bexar County Jail.
