ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas — On the morning of August 6, 2025, Atascosa County deputies responded to a reported break-in at a residence near McCoy.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a building and two shipping containers had been burglarized just moments before. Believing the suspect was still nearby, a search was conducted using air support from Texas Game Wardens and a tracking dog.
Shortly after, suspect Steffi Salinas of San Antonio was found hiding in the brush and arrested on two counts of Burglary of a Building.
Investigators also recovered a stolen boat, trailer, and other items from locations in Bexar County.
The Atascosa County Patrol and CID divisions led the investigation with support from the Texas Game Wardens Air Unit and the Texas Rangers. Further arrests are expected as the case remains under investigation.
