Police Search for Motorcycle Driver Who Fled Scene of Schertz Crash


SCHERTZ, TX – The Schertz Police Department is seeking information on a motorcycle driver who fled the scene of a collision on Wednesday. The incident occurred at approximately 12:14 p.m. on the I-35 Northbound Access Road near Fairlawn Road.

The suspect, described as a white male between 5'10" and 6'0" tall, was last seen wearing a white shirt and white socks and carrying a backpack. He is believed to have injured his left arm with severe road rash as a result of the crash.

During the search for the suspect, Schertz Science and Technology and Sipple Elementary School were placed on secure protocol, with perimeter doors locked and no one allowed to enter or exit. The suspect was not located, and the schools were later released from their secure status. Authorities believe the suspect has fled the area and there is no continued threat to the community.

The motorcycle involved in the crash had no license plate, and its VIN did not match any registered vehicle. The Schertz Police Department, which was assisted by the Guadalupe County Constable Pct. 3 and the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office, is asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information on the motorcycle operator to contact them at 210-619-1200.
