SAN ANTONIO, TX – The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is urging the public to come forward with information in an ongoing child sexual abuse investigation, after releasing the mugshot of arrested suspect Crystal Celestina Candia, 39.
Candia is facing federal charges for Sexual Exploitation of Children and a state warrant has been obtained for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child. She was taken into custody on July 28, 2025, through a collaborative effort between the SAPD Special Victims Unit and the FBI Task Force.
The investigation began after someone discovered child sexual abuse materials with a child to whom Candia had access and reported those materials to law enforcement. Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
The SAPD is asking, "Has your child been near this woman?" and encourages anyone with information to contact the SAPD Special Victims Unit at 210-207-2313.
Authorities emphasize the importance of community vigilance in protecting children. "If you see something, say something. As a community, we can work together to keep children safe. Call 911 if you learn someone is potentially abusing a child," the department stated.
