Man Killed by Police After Weapon Attack at New Braunfels Apartment Complex

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX — On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers with the New Braunfels Police Department responded to a disturbance call at the Sage Apartments, located in the 2500 block of West San Antonio Street.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect and a female victim involved in a reported dispute. During the interaction, the male suspect brandished a sharp weapon and lunged toward the officers, prompting both to discharge their service weapons.

Officers attempted life-saving measures until paramedics from the New Braunfels Fire Department arrived and continued medical efforts. The suspect, a 33-year-old man from Spring, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

No officers or other civilians were injured during the incident.

As standard protocol, the two involved officers — with a combined four years of service — have been placed on administrative leave. Investigations by the New Braunfels Police Department and the Texas Rangers are currently underway.
