BEXAR COUNTY, TX — A high-speed pursuit on Friday, July 25, 2025, led to the arrest of two individuals after deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office Street Crimes Unit (SCU) attempted to stop a white Dodge Charger driving recklessly on Gibbsprawl near Walzem.
Just before 3 p.m., deputies observed the Charger accelerating aggressively and tailgating other vehicles. A license plate check revealed the plate belonged to a stolen Nissan Rogue — a clear mismatch, as the Charger is a sedan and the Rogue is an SUV.
Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over and led law enforcement on a pursuit through busy Friday traffic on NE Loop 410 and eventually onto IH West, nearing the Bexar-Kendall County line.
With aerial support from the San Antonio Police Department’s Eagle helicopter and assistance from a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper, the vehicle was brought to a stop. Both occupants fled on foot into a nearby business parking lot.
The driver, identified as 22-year-old Francisco Alvarado, was apprehended by the DPS Trooper. He was transported to the Bexar County Jail and booked on charges of evading arrest in a motor vehicle (third-degree felony) and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (state jail felony).
The passenger, 20-year-old Jayden Rubio, was found hiding behind a building and was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with evading arrest on foot.
