High-Speed Police Chase in Kerrville Ends in Crash, Injuring Innocent Driver

A high-speed pursuit initiated by a Kerrville Police officer on Wednesday, June 18, resulted in a serious collision that injured an uninvolved motorist. The chase began when a white Dodge Ram, driven by a juvenile, failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens and fled from officers.

At approximately 8:15 AM, a Kerrville Police Officer attempted to stop the speeding Dodge Ram in the 1900 block of Loop 534. The vehicle refused to stop and continued southbound on Sidney Baker at a high rate of speed, leading officers through residential streets before returning to Loop 534.

The driver continued to evade officers, eventually driving southbound onto Olympic Drive toward the intersection of Singing Wind. At this intersection, the suspect vehicle struck a white Mitsubishi, causing the truck to flip onto its side and trapping the driver of the Mitsubishi inside her vehicle.

Officers removed the driver of the truck, identifying him as a juvenile. The driver of the Mitsubishi was airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio for treatment. The juvenile was processed and subsequently released to Juvenile Probation. He faces charges including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, and Reckless Driving.
