At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2025, officers with the Uhland Police Department responded to a report of a shooting outside a residence on Rocky Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation occurred, during which an unidentified suspect produced a firearm. A 17-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. No arrests have been made.

Uhland Police Chief Greg Duarte confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that the Texas Rangers have been requested to assist. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Uhland Police Department.
