San Angelo Suspect Abandons Stolen Vehicle After Pursuit; Search Halted by Weather

On May 26, 2025, at approximately 2:49 p.m., San Angelo Public Safety Communications received a 911 call reporting a stolen vehicle from the 900 block of Shiloh Drive.

According to the victim, the vehicle had been jump-started and left running momentarily while they returned inside their residence. Shortly after, they heard the car door close and saw the vehicle being driven away.

Responding officers located the vehicle traveling westbound on Houston Harte Expressway and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit that continued into the county via Arden Road.

The suspect later abandoned the vehicle at Arden Road Ranch and fled on foot into a nearby field. The San Angelo Police Department was assisted in the search by a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, and Texas State Park Police. The search was eventually called off due to incoming severe weather.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner. The investigation into the suspect's identity remains ongoing.
