San Antonio Man Arrested After Firing Rifle Over Headlight Dispute

A 35-year-old man was taken into custody early Friday morning after allegedly firing a rifle at a neighbor’s home during a dispute over vehicle headlights, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. on May 23 on Bradley Street, near Loop 410 on the city’s Southwest Side. Authorities say the situation escalated after a neighbor stepped outside to start his vehicle, and the headlights briefly shined across the street toward the suspect’s residence.

In response, police say the suspect exited his home armed with a rifle and fired one round toward the neighbor’s house. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Responding officers encountered a brief standoff as the man initially refused to come outside. Officers had their weapons drawn but reported that the suspect eventually surrendered without further incident.

The suspect’s identity has not been released. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
