A suspect has been apprehended by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) following an aggravated robbery at an HEB store on May 8th. The incident occurred in the 8200 block of Marbach Rd.
According to police reports, the suspect, 45-year-old Juan Luis Madrid, was attempting to steal merchandise when confronted by a loss prevention employee. Madrid allegedly brandished a firearm, pointing it towards the staff member before fleeing the scene with the stolen items.
San Antonio Police Robbery detectives immediately launched an investigation and successfully identified the suspect. On Thursday, May 15th, with the assistance of the SAPD Street Crimes Unit, Madrid was located and arrested on an active aggravated robbery warrant. The arrest was made without any further incident.
The SAPD praised the swift and effective work of their officers and Robbery detectives in investigating this case and bringing the suspect into custody.
