Evan Trapasso, 27, of Boerne, Texas, was sentenced on May 8, 2025, to eight years of confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division after pleading guilty to Burglary of a Habitation.
The Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department responded to a burglary report on January 13, 2025, at approximately 9:48 AM. The victim, Frank Trapasso, reported that his home had been burglarized overnight. He noted signs of someone having eaten in his home, leaving dishes in the sink, and discovered a broken window indicating forced entry.
While officers were en route to the burglary call, Officer B. Morgan encountered a man walking along the 300 block of Ammann Road. The individual, carrying two full bags and wearing multiple layers of clothing, was stopped. One bag was a small camouflage duffel bag, and the other was a gray canvas tote. Corporal Hinojosa informed Officer Morgan that the man's last name matched the burglary complainant. The man was identified as Evan Trapasso, the victim's grandson. Trapasso denied involvement in the burglary and refused a search of his bags.
The victim was brought to Trapasso's location and immediately identified a leather jacket and flannel shirt Trapasso was wearing as items stolen from his residence. A subsequent search of Trapasso's bags revealed several items belonging to the victim, including antique watches, picture frames, pens, and books.
Further investigation uncovered additional items belonging to the victim along the 300 and 400 blocks of Ammann Road, including a laptop power cord, food, and clothing. Mail belonging to another resident on Ammann Road was also found among the recovered property.
The victim later reported that several silver collector coins and a laptop were still missing. He also discovered a suitcase containing more of his belongings, which he suspected his grandson intended to take.
Assistant Criminal District Attorney Alessandra Deike prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Texas.
