Alert Residents Lead to Arrest of Juvenile Burglary Suspects in San Marcos


San Marcos Police apprehended three juveniles on Saturday night, May 10th, after responding to multiple reports of suspicious activity at The Village on Telluride around 9:30 P.M.

Prompt calls from vigilant residents enabled officers to quickly locate the three juveniles suspected of breaking into vehicles.

One suspect was apprehended with a handgun after attempting to flee by jumping a fence. The other two fled on foot but were safely detained with the assistance of community tips, drone technology, and a K-9 unit.

All three juveniles, aged between 12 and 13, are facing serious charges, including Burglary of Vehicle, Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, Organized Criminal Activity, and Evading Arrest.

The San Marcos Police Department expressed their gratitude to the community members who reported the suspicious activity, stating, "A big thank you to our community members for speaking up. Your vigilance helps keep San Marcos safe."
