Volaris Adds Nonstop Flights from San Antonio to Morelia and San Luis Potosi


San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is expanding its nonstop options to Mexico with the addition of two new destinations through Mexican low-cost carrier, Volaris. Starting July 5, 2025, Volaris will launch new service to both Morelia (MLM) and San Luis Potosi (SLP).

Jesus Saenz, Director of Airport for the City of San Antonio Aviation Department, stated, "Expansion throughout Mexico continues to be a priority for us at SAT. We appreciate our partners at Volaris for continuing to invest in San Antonio; these new flights will not only make it easier to visit family and friends but also to grow business ties and continue to bring tourists to our beautiful region."

The new flight schedules are as follows:

Morelia (MLM):

  • Service begins: July 5, 2025
  • Frequency: Three times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays)
  • Departs SAT: 6:49 p.m.
  • Arrives MLM: 7:39 p.m.
  • Departs MLM: 9:00 a.m.
  • Arrives SAT: 11:52 a.m.

San Luis Potosi (SLP):

  • Service begins: July 5, 2025
  • Frequency: Three times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays)
  • Departs SAT: 1:14 p.m.
  • Arrives SLP: 1:43 p.m.
  • Departs SLP: 2:48 p.m.
  • Arrives SAT: 5:16 p.m.

Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of Volaris, commented, "The launch of these two international routes, connecting San Antonio with the Mexican cities of Morelia, Michoacán, and San Luis Potosi, starting on July 5th, marks a significant milestone in our international expansion strategy. We are committed to offering our customers in both countries the most extensive and affordable air connectivity, making it easier for them to stay close to their loved ones, for vacation, or explore new business opportunities."

With these additions, San Antonio International Airport will offer nonstop service to nine cities in Mexico through five different airline partners, a significant increase from the four destinations offered pre-pandemic. Volaris currently also provides nonstop service from SAT to Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey.
