Man Rearrested for Murder Following Road Rage Incident at Bexar County Gas Station

Sean Anthony Samaniego

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Bexar County Sheriff's deputies rearrested 34-year-old Sean Anthony Samaniego on a warrant for murder. The charge follows a road rage incident at a Valero gas station near the intersection of E Loop 1604 S and Hwy 181 S on March 7, 2025.

Samaniego had originally been arrested on March 8, 2025, for tampering with physical evidence in connection with the shooting. Deputies located Samaniego at a relative's home, where he was arrested without incident. He is currently being held at the Bexar County Jail on charges of murder and violation of parole, with a bond totaling $250,000. Additionally, Samaniego is being remanded without bond.

The original incident unfolded at the Valero gas station, where deputies discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to revive him, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and saw a dark truck leaving the area shortly after. Surveillance footage showed the victim arriving in a white sedan and approaching Samaniego's dark blue Chevy truck, where the shooting occurred.

Samaniego initially denied shooting the victim, claiming a "passenger" in his truck fired the shots. However, he refused to cooperate with investigators. After the shooting, Samaniego fled the scene and removed his truck’s trailer in an attempt to alter its appearance, knowing that law enforcement was searching for him. The trailer was later found, and Samaniego confirmed it was his.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of tampering with evidence related to the murder investigation, and he was booked into the Bexar County Jail following his initial arrest. The new murder charge was filed after further investigation.
