Veteran-Led Project DYNAMO Launches New Anti-Human Trafficking Initiative in San Antonio

Project DYNAMO, a veteran-led nonprofit organization, which conducts humanitarian search-and-rescue operations domestically and internationally, is scheduled to announce the organization’s new anti-human trafficking initiative Thursday in San Antonio.

On Thursday, Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m., Project DYNAMO's leadership will announce the new initiative, dubbed Archangel, at Longtab Brewing Company, a veteran-owned establishment located at 4700 Timco W Suite 105, San Antonio, TX 78238.

Project DYNAMO’s top members are expected to be joined by fellow intelligence experts, current and former military servicemembers and law enforcement counterparts from outside of the organization.

Through the Archangel initiative, Project DYNAMO plans to harness and leverage the collective power of their veteran-led clandestine intelligence and special forces experiences, as well as military and law enforcement partnerships in the United States and allied countries, to uncover trafficking rings and rescue victims of human traffickers.

According to the U.S. Department of State, an estimated 27.6 million people worldwide are currently victims of human trafficking. Representatives from Project DYNAMO say that while counter-human trafficking projects and initiatives exist in the United States, the international community is sorely lacking in fighting the practice and more resources are clearly needed.

“People around the world are falling victim to the heinous and evil practice of human trafficking daily, and in most cases, nobody is coming to save them,” said Mario Duarte, the president and CEO of Project DYNAMO. “Our organization has years of experience rescuing Americans from warzones and natural disasters worldwide, and we are now putting our skillset to good use in our Archangel initiative. Along with rescuing Americans from warzones and disaster areas when the need arises, Archangel allows us to focus daily on the massive unfilled need for anti-human trafficking efforts outside of the United States.”

While some aspects of Project DYNAMO’s Archangel program will remain secret due to operational security, the initiative will include sharing best practices among government agencies and other private anti-human trafficking organizations, creating a government-modeled database to track suspected human traffickers and to provide victims with resources to heal from the physical, mental and emotional trauma of their human trafficking experience after they are rescued.

Members of the media are cordially invited to attend the Thursday evening event, and may RSVP by emailing peter.dabrosca@judgepr.com or calling 720.639.0066.
