Comal County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call regarding a suicidal individual on Sunday, May 12th, 2024, at approximately 12:08 pm, at a residence in the 1400 block of Elm Creek Rd.
Upon arrival, deputies established communication with the individual, who brandished a handgun, prompting one deputy to discharge their firearm, injuring the subject. Deputies administered life-saving measures before Canyon Lake Fire and Emergency Medical Services took over and transported the individual to a regional hospital for surgical care. The subject remains in the Intensive Care Unit.
The deputy involved has been placed on routine paid administrative leave, while the investigation is ongoing under the Texas Rangers.
