A traffic stop conducted by a Gillespie County deputy on Monday, April 1, 2024, led to the discovery of illegal substances. The stop occurred around 10:35 p.m. near the intersection of West US Highway 290 and Dinosaur Ranch Road due to a speeding violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, occupied by a female driver and a male front-seat passenger, the deputy detected the smell of marijuana emanating from inside.
Following this, a search was conducted, revealing a significant quantity of illicit substances. Among the findings were approximately 310 grams of marijuana, some sugar nuggets infused with THC, and around 267 grams of cannabutter infused with THC. Subsequently, the 61-year-old male passenger, identified as a resident of Round Rock, TX, claimed ownership of the THC products. Consequently, he was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2 >= 400 grams after further investigation.
