Kerrville Director of Parks and Recreation Achieves Elite Industry Certification

Ashlea Boyle, director or Parks and Recreation

Director of Parks and Recreation Ashlea Boyle, of the City of Kerrville, has achieved the Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE) designation from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The CPRE credential, a national standard for managerial excellence in the field, emphasizes practical knowledge across five competency areas: communications, finance, operations, human resources, and policy and planning.

The CPRE, designed for middle to upper-management professionals, demands a blend of education, field experience, and a current Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification. Boyle's attainment of the CPRE highlights her commitment to leadership and expertise in the industry.

With nearly 16 years of service to Kerrville, Boyle has led the Parks and Recreation Department since 2016. She is renowned for her dedication to community service, often seen engaging with park users, attending events, and overseeing park enhancements.

Boyle credits the success of Kerrville's parks system to her dedicated team of approximately 50 individuals. "Our department comprises enthusiastic, talented, and hard-working individuals I am proud to work alongside," Boyle remarked. "They truly care about their work and our community, striving to make a difference."

Boyle's achievement places her among the elite group of around 400 CPREs nationwide, underscoring her commitment to excellence in parks and recreation management.
