New Chief Nursing Officer Appointed at Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan

Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Ashley Holmstrom as its new Chief Nursing Officer. Dr. Holmstrom brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having most recently served as Chief Nursing Officer at Abrazo West and Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center, a leading regional trauma center in Goodyear, Arizona.

During her tenure at Abrazo West and Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center, Dr. Holmstrom implemented initiatives that significantly reduced nursing turnover and improved communication with nursing staff. She also played a key role in increasing nursing engagement through shared governance structures, empowering nurses in decision-making and patient care.

Dr. Holmstrom's dedication to fostering positive change extends beyond her professional roles. She has mentored numerous nursing leaders and is actively involved in community organizations, including the Maricopa County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Walden University, Dr. Holmstrom is well-equipped to lead Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan's nursing team. She holds board certifications with the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive and Professional Development Leader.

Dr. Holmstrom will officially assume her new role on April 1, 2024, and her appointment signifies an important moment for Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan's nursing department.
