On March 20th, two suspects orchestrated a daring robbery of a Brink's Armored Vehicle while it conducted its routine rounds. The perpetrators pulled up alongside the vehicle in their own car, brandished firearms, and forced the armed security personnel to surrender. Seizing an undisclosed sum of cash-filled cartridges, the suspects swiftly fled the scene.
Upon notification, San Antonio Police Department robbery detectives promptly arrived at the scene to commence their investigation. Collaborating with ATF agents, the detectives swiftly identified the culprits and their getaway vehicle. Utilizing this information, law enforcement officers tracked down the suspects to their location and apprehended them without delay.
Deandre Nelson, aged 28, has been charged with Aggravated Robbery in connection with the incident. The identity of the second suspect remains under investigation as detectives continue their inquiries.
The successful resolution of this case was attributed to the diligent efforts of the Robbery Task Force, SCU, RAVEN, and EAGLE units.
