Intensive Search Continues for Missing Texas A&M Corpus Christi Student Caleb Harris

Caleb Harris

Corpus Christi Police Department officers, alongside federal and state partners, are intensifying efforts to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Caleb Harris. The 21-year-old Texas A&M Corpus Christi student vanished without a trace from his off-campus apartment during the foggy early morning hours of Monday, March 4th, 2024.

Despite an extensive initial search of hundreds of acres surrounding Harris’s apartment complex on the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin Drive yielding no results, investigators are diligently working to establish a timeline for Harris leading up to his disappearance. Interviews with roommates, friends, family members, and acquaintances have been conducted, with no suspicion falling on any individuals.

Door-to-door canvassing of Harris’s and adjacent apartment complexes, as well as searching over thirty vacant apartments, has been undertaken in hopes of finding witnesses or surveillance footage.

An investigative team, comprising members from the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, Organized Crime Unit, FBI, United States Marshals Service, and civilian crime analysts, was swiftly formed after Harris went missing. The team meets daily to exchange information, discuss leads, and plan the investigation.

Recently, the team met with a squad of five Texas Rangers at Police Headquarters to update them on the case's progress and seek advice. The Rangers affirmed the investigative team's approach and pledged continued support.

While the search may be less visible to the public, the CCPD reassures that efforts remain intense. Detectives are conducting interviews in Corpus Christi and have extended their investigation to San Antonio and New Braunfels. They are actively following up on tips and leads.

However, despite exhaustive efforts, investigators have yet to determine a motive or identify a suspect. The public's assistance is sought in solving this case. Anyone with information regarding Caleb Harris’s disappearance is urged to contact the Corpus Christi Police Department at (361) 886-2840 or (361) 886-2600.

Anyone who would like to keep their identity secret and still provide information to Detectives should call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS (8477) or submit the tip online at https://www.p3tips.com/TipForm.aspx?ID=343&C=&T=.
